THE PROGRAM


The Day Intensive Program (DIP) is designed for students who want to improve their writing, reading, listening, speaking and grammar skills, and prepare for college or graduate school. The program...

  • Provides 18-20 hours per week of academic ESL instruction.
  • Offers classes Monday through Friday (morning program) or Monday through Thursday (afternoon program). See Yearly Calendar for more details.
  • Offers 10 levels of proficiency, from beginner to advanced.
  • Uses a curriculum that helps students develop the academic English language skills needed to succeed in college, graduate school or a professional career.
  • Gives specialized workshops and electives that intermediate and advanced students can choose from, including: Dance as a Second Language, Website Design, Business English, Grammar, Vocabulary, College Preparation, Movie Making, American Popular Culture and many more.
  • Enables those students who finish the highest level to enter LaGuardia College without taking the TOEFL test.
